Greeting from Chairman
The treatment of transcatheter arterial embolization was developed in Japan, and has recently spread to other countries as a type of catheterization treatments for joint pain. In addition, not limited to joint, it can treat any part of body where chronic pain exists. The purpose of this study group is not only the technical development of TAME, but also the development of physicians who are capable of treating chronic pain. Through the education of physicians, we aim to increase people’s understanding of musculoskeletal pain and satisfaction with treatment.
2020 has been a year of change, in which people’s values have changed significantly. Our behavioral changes are being encouraged in a variety of situations, such as eating, leisure, travelling or business. The attitudes of people who receive medical care are also changing. It is also the same for patients who have joint pain. In the past year, many patients visited hospitals frequently to treat their pain. However, from now on, the small number of visit to get effective result should be preferred. We believe that the social role of TAME which provides long-term benefits with fewer treatments will also increase in the current circumstance. We will continue our research activities with the hope that this research group will have high social value findings, achievements and development of human resources.
